The actor set to portray Augustus Waters in the highly-anticipated film adaptation of "The Fault in Our Stars" has finally been found. All odds went to the favour of actor, Ansel Elgort. Despite the announcement made by Director Josh Boone and Author John Green, some fans aren't at all delighted with the choice. So, here are a few actors that could have played a better Augustus Waters.

After much deliberation and not to mention weeks of waiting, Director Josh Boone and Author John Green have finally cast their actor for the role of Augustus Waters. Ansel Elgort is set to play Gus Waters opposite Shailene Woodley as Hazel Grace Lancaster.

"Ansel is whip-smart and uber-charismatic and everything I dreamed for Augustus Waters," stated Green in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, adding, "I am by nature a cautious pessimist, but I'll just say it: Now that we have Shailene and Ansel, I am completely, unreservedly psyched about this movie."

Even Director Josh Boone was awed by Ansel's audition for the role.

"Ansel Elgort is the epitome of the boy John Green brought to life so vividly in his novel and he truly embodies the character traits we admire so much about Gus. His humor, sensitivity, honesty and confidence floored us. Watching him with Shailene was like seeing the film for the first time. Hearing then say okay to each other was incredibly moving. We couldn't be more thrilled to have found our Gus," said Boone.

Yet, with the announcement finally made, some fans aren't happy with the choice made by Boone and Green. Elgort was never included in the favourites for the role of Waters. In fact, top fan picks for the role of Waters included Logan Lerman, Dylan O'Brien and Joshua Anthony Brand.

If fans had their way, Ansel Elgort would not have been cast as Waters. Now, who would? Check out the slideshow to see the better choices for Waters than Elgort.
