“Fast and Furious Live” arena tour has been announced ahead of the release of “The Fate of the Furious,” the eighth film in the franchise. Universal Pictures is planning to make it even bigger by expanding the universe of the blockbuster series. Here’s everything that you need to know about the live arena tour.

Global live arena tour

Universal Pictures has recently announced the plans to launch a global live arena tour, which will be inspired by the films in the franchise. For this, the studio has collaborated with live show producers Brand Events. It is the same team that created the “Top Gear Live” series of live racing and stunt shows.

Physics-defying stunts

Fans will be able to live the action as performance drivers will attempt the scenes in front of their eyes. They will recreate the popular physics-defying stunts using the most advanced technology.

Popular cars from the franchise

The “Fast and Furious Live” arena tour will also feature popular cars from the franchise. They will recreate a number of locations from the series as well, including underground streets of Los Angeles among others.

Debuting date

The studio has announced that the live global arena tour will debut in January 2018. “Fast & Furious Live will transform the live-entertainment industry in the same way the global box-office franchise has redefined the action genre,” said President Vince Klaseus of Universal Brand Development in a statement. He added that fans will get to experience closely what they love the most in the franchise.

“In addition to its arrival as a global live arena tour, the launch of Fast and Furious Live represents Universal’s significant expansion of our franchises into entertainment channels that are as unexpected as they are innovative,” said David O’Connor, the studio's executive vice president of global franchise management and brand marketing. He added that the company is not only building brand portfolios but also bringing forward exciting opportunities for fans to connect with the world that their favourite characters inhabit.

The “Fast and Furious Live” arena tour debuts on January 2018. Meanwhile, the next film in the franchise “The Fate of the Furious” is slated for release in the US on April 14. The movie will hit the screens in Australia on April 12. The ninth and tenth films in the franchise are scheduled for US release on April 19, 2019 and on April 2, 2021 respectively.
