“The Fate of the Furious” will be the first film in the franchise to show Dominic “Dom” Toretto (Vin Diesel) going against his family. However, Diesel says that his family is the most important to him, and going against it was the darkest road for him as of yet.

Vin Diesel posted a picture on Instagram, which read, “The most important thing in life will always be family.” However, he admitted that going against the family was not easy for him. “You who have followed the saga though every chapter...the dark roads...the challenges, the brotherhood. In the next chapter Dom will face his darkest road yet,” he added. (See the post below.)

In the trailer of the movie and the recently released ad during Super Bowl 2017, Cipher (Charlize Theron) is seen seducing Dom back into the criminal world. Dom ditches his crew and wife Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez) and chooses to go with Cipher instead.

“I don’t have friends, I got family,” Dom said in “Furious 7.” Fans are now shocked and disappointed to see Dom ditching his family of friends. This time, the battle seems to be within the crew instead of being with a villain from outside.

When Diesel was asked about why the story has taken such a turn, he posted a video on Facebook talking about the same. He said that “it was inevitable.”

“I can't tell you how hard it was to make that movie. We've been talking about family for so many pictures. And it was inevitable that there would be a chapter that would challenge that concept of family. I guess it all makes sense when you see the film,” Diesel said. (Watch the video below.)

The movie will be bigger and more muscular than the previous instalments, says Celestino Cornielle (Raldo). “This instalment, just like the Rock, is bigger and more muscular. Fans can expect action packed stellar performances from a powerhouse cast. Big explosions, big car chases, and big races all amidst incredible scenery,” he said in an interview.

Apart from Diesel, Dwayne Johnson (Hobbs), Michelle Rodriguez (Letty), Tyrese Gibson (Roman Pearce), Michelle Rodriguez (Letty Ortiz), Chris Bridges (Tej Parker), Kurt Russell (Frank Petty), Nathalie Emmanuel (Ramsey) and Jason Statham (Deckard Shaw) are returning in their respective roles. Charlize Theron, Helen Mirren (undisclosed role) and Kurt Russell (Mr Nobody) have also been added to the cast of the flick.

Directed by F Gary Gray and written by Chris Morgan, “The Fate of the Furious” is scheduled to release on April 14. The movie will be released in Australia on April 12.
