Months before the highly successful, fast-paced and high-octane movie “Fast 8” hits theatres, its cast gives fans something to look forward to – the launch of its official trailer on Dec. 11.

On the Facebook page of the “Fast & Furious” film franchise, it has been announced that the cast members of the latest installment will be on hand at the live trailer debut event in New York City in the US. “The cast will be live in 3 days to debut the #F8 trailer! Tune in this Sunday, 4:40PM PT / 7:40PM ET on Facebook,” the caption read.

It has been earlier reported that “Fast 8” is set in New York, and that it will heed to late actor Paul Walker’s wish for the storyline to feature street racing rather than special effects and huge action sequences, according to the Internet Movie Database (IMDb). This is the first movie without the beloved character Brian O’Conner, after Walker died in a tragic car accident in November 2013.

Vin Diesel, who plays Dominic Toretto, also hinted in previous interviews that the film’s setting is New York City and that the movie will be dedicated to Walker. Diesel is expected to appear in the live debut of the trailer, along with other “Fast 8” cast members Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (Hobbs), Michelle Rodriguez (Letty Toretto), Tyrese Gibson (Roman Pearce), Ludacris (Tej Parker) and Elsa Pataky.

It would be interesting to see the rapport between Diesel and Johnson, who were reported to be feuding back in August. The two posted considerably harsh messages on their respective social media accounts, supposedly throwing shade at each other. However, some media outlets reported that the two actors’ beef was nothing but a publicity stunt to help promote “Fast 8.”

Such efforts may be unnecessary, considering the movie’s stellar cast. Adding star factor to the current ensemble are Hollywood A-listers Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, Kurt Russell and Jason Statham. “Fast & Furious 8” or “Fast 8,” directed by F Gary Gray, is scheduled to hit theatres in April 2017 in US theatres. The official airing date in Australia is yet to be announced.
