Best known for her fiery role as Cookie Lyon in Fox musical drama series, “Empire” star Taraji P. Henson is eyeing “Furious 7” hunk Tyrese Gibson as her next love interest for the show’s Season 2. The show’s Season 1 ended with Lucious Lyon (Terence Howard) behind bars and with Jamal (Jussie Smollett) earning the Empire’s throne over his two brother, Andre (Trai Byers) and Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray).

"I am rooting for Tyrese because I think we will actually break the Internet if that happens," Henson told E! Online when asked about her possible love interest for “Empire” Season 2.

What’s in store for Cookie is still a big mystery after the show’s two-hour season finale that broke record ratings as the show gears up for its sophomore season. Cookie and Jamal’s relationship is going to hit a speed bump as the queen of the Empire plans for a hostile takeover together with her two sons, with the help of Lucious’s former fiancé Annika (Grace Gealey).

“Empire’s” executive producer Ilene Chaiken revealed in an interview that she is excited to see Cookie with her status especially in the absence of Lucious. Still trying to find a way to bring her family back together, Cookie will do everything in her power to gain back Jamal’s trust as Season 1 is set to explore the colourful past of Henson’s character.

Meanwhile, “Empire’s” series creator Lee Daniels and lead star Terence Howard are reportedly sued for $1bn (£674m) by a "gangster" who claims they stole his idea for the popular TV show. Based on TMZ’s report, a man named Ron Newt is suing the FOX series as the show bares many similarities to his documentary, “Bigger Than Big.”

Describing himself as a “known ghetto player,” Newt’s documentary is based on a real life as a self-proclaimed “gangster, pimp and drug dealer.” In his lawsuit, Newt alleges that he met Howard at the Four Seasons Hotel a while back as they talked about his documentary where the actor is set to play him in the film.

Hewt also told the publication that he signed a multimillion dollar deal with MCA in 1989 and also deals with Michael Jackson’s family and Death Row Records. With so many alleged similarities of the hit show to his documentary, Hewt is suing Fox for a billion dollars.
