Taraji P. Henson’s Cookie monster is out and she’s bringing her sassiness in last weekend’s “Saturday Night Live.” The “Empire” star, who plays Cookie Lyon on Fox’s new musical dram show spoofed “Sesame Street” and HBO’s epic series “Game of Thrones,” which premiered its Season 5 on Sunday, April 12.

The actress proved her formidable comedy chops, including her singing prowess, as she hosted SNL for the very first time. Featuring a couple of surprising cameos and musical guest appearance of Mumford & Sons, the show started with Henson’s opening monologue as she celebrated her “overnight success” as Cookie Lyon saying, “after 20 years in show business proved hat white people finally know who I am!”

“Combining Cookie's electrifying star power with the cuddly charms of Sesame Street's furriest residents may mostly hinge on wardrobe choices and the shared name of a pair of Cookies (the Lyon and the Monster, respectively), but Henson's high energy and commitment to the gag elevated the material to something befitting the smash hit that is “Empire,” according to Rolling Stone.

Nominated for an Oscar for her stellar performance in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” Henson poked fun in the newly premiered HBO series as SNL took the audience to a new world in Westeros, South Centros. The medieval sketch recreated the look and feel of “Game of Thrones” that they even have an opening credits to make it look authentic.

“Game of Thrones” actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, or better known as Jamie Lannister, made a surprise appearance which added a “level of believability to the whole sketch.

Meanwhile, Henson told "Seth Meyers on Late Night" that nobody calls her by her first name as Cookie “has stolen” her identity and all her friends. The “Person of Interest” star recently wrapped her Fox show and is now gearing up for “Empire’s” Season 2 which for now has no official premiere date.

When asked what she expect for the show’s sophomore season, the actress revealed that she wants to see Cookie’s life while she was locked up for 17 years. Although there are a lot of flashbacks on the Lyon’s family life, there is no real information about what happened to Cookie while she was in jail.
