Last week’s episode, “Sins of the Father,” is an ultimate turning point for everyone that Lucious Lyon (Terence Howard) is a man with many secrets. He kept his secrets just to keep his Empire at the expense of his sons and the people around him. Actor Jussie Smollet (Jamal Lyon) talked about the show’s epic ending and Jamal’s “Cookie moment” as he goes after Lucious and take away his Empire.

“Jamal is now on more of an equal playing field with Lucious -- not financially, obviously -- but in a man-to-man sense of things,” Smollet told TV Line. “Lucious can’t pull the rug from under him because there is no rug that Jamal’s standing on that Lucious owns.”

When asked about last week’s pivotal parental confession, Lucious confessed he’s the biological father of Lola, the actor revealed that Lucious is the master puppeteer. He goes on saying that Lucious killed Cookie’s (Taraji P. Henson) cousin Bunkie in the face and divorced his wife after serving 17 years in prison because of him, which makes Lucious the last person to be trusted.

The 31-year-old star admitted that Lucious is not going to change his views about Jamal’s sexuality but he will be forced to respect his son as he learned to see Jamal becoming more like him, minus the sexuality. He warned the audience that Lucious will not change overnight but fans will see the changes in him as Jamal proves to be the right heir for the Empire.

When it comes to Jamal’s love life, the former “The Mighty Ducks” star revealed that his character is not unlucky in love but he needs someone who can keep up with his lifestyle and be loyal at the same time. He confessed that Jamal is not even done with Ryan, a filmmaker played by “The Originals” star Eka Darville.

Meanwhile, “Empire” Season 1 finale is set for a new time slot for its two-hour finale. The new schedule is scheduled at 8 pm on Wednesday, March 18 on Fox. The super-sized episodes, “Die But Once” and “Who I Am,” features Lucious and Jamal making progress as they form a music-centered relationship.
