After crushing the rating since its premiere in January, Fox’s “Empire” is about to wrap is first season with two more episodes left, episode 11 (“Die But Once”) and episode 12 (“Who I Am”). Now looking ahead for “Empire” Season 2, series co-creator Lee Daniels (“The Butler”) has been teasing fans of with Oprah Winfrey and Common as they join the ensemble cast for the upcoming season.

Daniels revealed in an interview on Thursday, March 12, that he is writing roles for the veteran actress and the Grammy-winner. The “Monsters Ball” director previously teased Lady O’s involvement in the TV series at a screening of “Empire” in Los Angeles.

The queen of talk previously revealed that Lee has taken all viewers on Wednesday and quipped that he also wants her to leave her network as she joins the musical cast. Lee also joked that he is wearing the queen of all media down. Winfrey and Daniels worked together in 2013’s historical drama film, “The Butler.”

Aside from confirming Oprah as one of the guest stars in “Empire” Season 2, Lee also confirmed that Oscar-winning singer Common is set to join the list of guest stars for the show’s upcoming season. The singer previously hinted that he will take opportunity to join the “Empire” cast as the show is filmed in Chicago.

"I see Lee at the gym and they shoot 'Empire' in my hometown of Chicago," Common told Access Hollywood at the "Run All Night" press junket On Sunday, March 15. "I would be a part of it if it was something that was the right character. I'm all about being a part of really quality things."

Daniels is currently staying mum about the roles of the two superstars as the show closes this March with a two-hour season finale. Winfrey and Common will join the list of the show’s guest stars including Grammy-winner Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson, Courtney Love, Snoop Dog, Patti Labelle and Rita Ora.
