Days Of Our Lives” star Kassi DePaiva is dealing with real-life drama as her character, Eve Larson née Donovan, is expected to return on the small screen soon.

Last week, the 55-year-old soap opera actress revealed that during the show’s three-week production hiatus in July, she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. As a result, she spent six of the last nine weeks in the hospital. She also revealed that she’s facing continuous treatment over the course of three months. DePaiva, however, reassured her fans that her prognosis is good.

“I will not likely need a stem cell/bone marrow transplant, and we expect a complete cure,” she wrote on her personal blog. “I consider this just a bump in the road. I have amazing prayer warriors, family, and friends that have been extremely supportive and life affirming throughout this.”

In September 2015, “DOOL” DePaiva bid goodbye to her character, Eve. In her blog, she wrote, “It saddens me to have been let go from the show just as Eve was finally finding her footing… But that is the way the Soap business goes. Characters come and go just as actors, writers, and producers. Some we love… Some we hate… But fortunately for all of us the stories still go on.”

DePaiva is set to return around the time of Theresa (Jen Lilley) and Brady’s (Eric Martsolf) wedding. The joyous occasion will turn into a nightmare when Theresa is abducted by Orpheus (Milo Harp), after he escapes from prison.

“This has been a private matter but with Eve's return coming soon I felt it was time to let my loving fans know what's been going on,” DePaiva explained in her latest post. “The Days and OLTL family love runs deep. Although I'm unable to be ‘camera ready’ now... my goal is get back to stirring up trouble in Salem soon. Keep me in [your] thoughts and prayers. “
