Spain boss Vicente del Bosque stated that starting spots for Chelsea stars Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas are no longer guaranteed in the national team.

The Blues pair did not go on international duty due to hamstring problems and Del Bosque might not have liked such a move. Jose Mourinho had been on a spat with the Spanish overseer in the past over Costa's health, blaming his counterpart for playing the Brazil-born Spanish international in spite of a claimed leg injury.

"Maybe when Costa and Cesc return, other players will have taken their place," said Del Bosque.

"That's not a threat: it's a reality. My responsibility has always been to search for normality, the best thing for our football."

Meanwhile, veteran defender Sergio Ramos felt that the matter lacked transparency and that it could have been dealt with in such a way as to not cause a stir.

"I would not have allowed this to happen, I would have come out and talked so that the subject did not grow bigger, and so that the problem was really known," said the Real Madrid man.

"At least, to leave it clear, so that people do not speculate or invent things that are not real. I want player to show the same commitment to the national team as they do to their club."
