The long-awaited CES 2015 event is scheduled between Jan. 6 and Jan. 9 in Las Vegas, Nevada. At CES, all the OEMs will be gearing up to showcase their upcoming devices to the world. As it turns out, aside from the device manufacturers, chipmaker Qualcomm is also looking up to the CES 2015 event. This is because the chipmaker will reportedly introduce a brand new Snapdragon 800-powered smartphone at the event.

Even though, one would expect Snapdragon 810-powered devices to take the driver's seat at the event, Qualcomm will introduce the new Snapdragon 800-powered device. Notably, Qualcomm has published the image of the device's rear shell. Housing a Snapdragon 800 SoC, the upcoming phone cannot be a flagship device. Therefore, the handset might not flaunt high-end specifications. And with the list of devices scheduled for introduction, it is highly likely that the smartphone could be from LG, opines Phone Arena. This is mainly because the published image showed a physical button on the rear panel.

It is worth noting that, LG has many devices lined-up for introduction at the CES. One such handset is the LG G Flex 2. Going by the available information, the upcoming LG G Flex 2 will reportedly be smaller than the original model and it will maintain the curvy design LG is famous for. In addition, the upcoming device will also flaunt flexible display and a self-healing back cover completes the device. Meanwhile, the original LG G Flex features a 6.0-inch display.

According to Android Authority, the upcoming G Flex 2 has gone through significant improvements when compared to its predecessor. Some of the enhancements include an OLED display complemented by a full HD screen resolution. [Scroll down to check out the tweet.]

In general, the International Consumer Electronics Show (aka International CES) will accommodate a total of 3,500 exhibitors. This includes manufacturers, developers, suppliers of consumer hardware/goods, content and delivery systems, to name a few. This CES 2015 event will see a total of 150,000 attendees from 140+ countries across the globe.
