Samsung has announced a super-fast version of the 2014 phablet Samsung Galaxy Note 4 dubbed the "Galaxy Note 4 LTE-A." This LTE-A version of the device will be powered by the latest 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor.

It is worth noting that the Snapdragon 810-powered Galaxy Note 4 will support Category 9 LTE connectivity. Also, the release date of the handset is pegged for January 2015. Nonetheless, the handset will reportedly hit the store shelves of South Korea as the first region. But then, Samsung has not officially announced the release pertaining to regions outside its home country, says Phone Arena.

When the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 LTE-A gets released, it would be the first Snapdragon 810-powered device of 2015. On the other hand, the currently available Snapdragon 805-powered Note 4 model uses dual-band carrier aggregation, which has the capability to offer download speeds of up to 150 Mbps. However, the upcoming model is a killer device that uses three bands (Tri Band) and can handle download speeds of up to 300 Mbps. This means that the Note 4 users can download a 700 MB video clip within 19 seconds or 10 songs at 40 MB size within one second.

Additionally, the LTE-A Tri-Band CA Galaxy Note 4 will start supporting LTE-A Category 9 service, providing download speeds of up to 450 Mbps at some point later in 2015, says the site Samsung Tomorrow. Meanwhile, the upcoming Note 4 model will initially support LTE Category 6. In any case, the Note 4 LTE-A owners will have to be connected to a tower that supports Tri-Band carrier aggregation to enjoy its benefits. Phone Arena also points out that the 300 Mbps data speed is four times faster than the current LTE connectivity.

The key features of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 LTE-A include a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with 2,560 x 1,440 pixels resolution, Android 4.4 (KitKat), 16 MP rear-facing camera unit and 3.7 MP selfie unit. The S Pen stylus is optimised for Air Command like Action Memo, Smart Select, Image Clip and Screen Write, along with S Note, Snap Note and Direct Pen Input.

The device will also support Ultra Power Saving Mode, Voice Recorder, Multi Window, Fingerprint Scanner and Heart Rate Monitor. Other key features include 32 GB of expandable storage and Li-ion 3,220 mAh battery unit.
