Calvin Harris has broken his silence over his reported breakup with Grammy winner Taylor Swift. The 32-year-old took to Twitter to share with his fans that he and Swift have ended their 15-month relationship.

Harris, whose real name is Adam Wiles, posted a brief and civil post that seemingly aimed to deny swirling rumours and theories about their breakup. “The only truth here is that a relationship came to an end & what remains is a huge amount of love and respect,” he wrote.

His tweet, which has since received more than 75,000 likes, has been shared by thousands of his followers, including Swift herself. The 26-year-old singer-songwriter has been mum about the news since it broke on June 2.

Swift and Harris, who went public about their romance in April 2015, celebrated their first anniversary on March 6. There seemed to be no trouble in paradise, and the “Blank Space” star’s fans begin to think that the couple may be in it for a long haul. Swift has become infamous with her hookups and breakups, especially with fellow celebrities.

The couple reportedly called it quits last week, but there hasn’t been any confirmation about when and why the split happened. As a result, fans could only speculate what led to the lovebirds’ breakup. Some say that they were already having relationship problems as early as last month, and it was Harris who broke up with Swift.

“Taylor's heart was more in it then he was,” a source told E! News. “He started to lose interest over the past few months, but really tried to not just break up.” The same source, however, clarified that in spite of cheating rumours, Harris was faithful with Swift. Whilst it was an emotional separation, the two handled it maturely, according to E! News.
