Reality TV star and former Olympic athlete Bruce Jenner has declared that he is a woman. He told ABC’s Diane Sawyer in an exclusive interview that he is transgender and he has known this for a very long time. Apart from his athletic achievements, Bruce is also best known for his kids and marriages. As the patriarch of the globally popular Kardashian-Jenner clan and a husband three times over, how can a man with six children from three different women declare himself to be a woman? His ex-wives speak out and react to his revelation.

Bruce was first married to his college sweetheart Chrystie Scott. The two of them have two children together, Cassandra and Burt Jenner. During the interview, Bruce revealed that the first person he ever openly and willingly told about his gender identity issue was his first wife Chrystie.

ABC News reached out to her when Bruce decided to do the interview and she expressed her all-out support. She hopes that the rest of the world will also extend her ex-husband the same understanding and support. “Someone who has lived 65 years of his life as the wrong gender has every right to live the last quarter of his life as his authentic self.” she said.

Jenner’s second wife Linda Thompson, also expressed her support through a statement to ABC. “Bruce has always had my loyalty, even if he wasn’t aware of it.” says Linda. She is the mother of Brandon and Brody Jenner, who have also made several appearances on “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”

She also said that she is hoping that Bruce will prove to be an inspiration to others after he showed courage in revealing his gender identity issues. She says that she is supporting her ex-husband now that he is ready to begin the new chapter in his life as a woman. Linda also released a statement to ETonline stating that the interview was amazing and beautifully done. She also commended ABC and Diane Sawyer for helping to bring some clarity into the condition that Bruce and many others are going through.

Bruce’s last and longest marriage was with reality TV star Kris Jenner. The couple has two biological children Kendall and Kylie Jenner. However, Bruce also helped raise Kris’ four children from her previous marriage. Kourtney, Kim, Khloe and Robert Kardashian grew up with Bruce and consider him as a second father. While Kris Jenner claims that ABC News never contacted her for a statement about the interview she took to her personal twitter account to express her thoughts.

Kris also explained via twitter that she was not formally approached for comment by ABC while the interview was in production. Nevertheless, Kris and the rest of the Kardashian family have all expressed their all-out support to Bruce in his transition into a woman.
