The Nine-Nine crew goes on a manhunt for a handful of convicts who’ve bolted from a prison van on the streets of Brooklyn and Jake (Andy Samberg) gains an unexpected ally when one of the fugitives remain at large on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” season 4, episode 11 (Brooklyn Nine-Nine 4x11).

Spoiler alert: This recap contains plot details about season 4 of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.” The fourth season premiered Sept. 20. The series is available for Australian viewers to watch on SBS every Wednesday at 8:00 p.m.

Craig Robinson is set for his annual appearance on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” in the next episode. His character Doug Judy, better known as the slippery car thief Pontiac Bandit, is going to become Jake’s unlikely ally when a group of fugitives escape from a prison van. Just like old times, Jake and Amy (Melissa Fumero) are going to wager on who gets to capture the most inmates.

The “Pilot” episode was the first time “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” fans got to see Jake and Amy one-up each other by going after criminals. Now that they’re in a relationship, it will be fun to see how they compete against one another, especially since the loser has to move into the winner’s apartment (per SpoilerTV). Jake’s arch nemesis, the Pontiac Bandit, is going to lend him a helping hand in tracking down the fugitives, but that won’t guarantee a win for Amy’s boyfriend since the Bandit has already played him a couple of times before.

Maybe that is why Holt (Andre Braugher), according to EW, is going against the Jake-Bandit tandem. He’s the captain, after all, and he knows better than to trust an elusive trickster. Retired NFL running back Marshawn Lynch guest stars as himself in “The Fugitive” and is going to be the only key witness of the criminal breakout.

“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” season 4, episode 11 is set to air on January 1 in the US. The two-part midseason finale airs January 2 in Australia.
