Almost two months after “Breaking Bad” has concluded, the U.S. crime drama show has released its alternate ending. Bryan Cranston returned to film the short hilarious segment with his “Malcolm in the Middle” co-star Jane Kaczmarek.

The highly acclaimed series was one of the few shows that gave a very satisfying ending, with critics and fans alike lauding the fitting finale for providing resolutions and answers.

But for those who weren’t happy with how the show ended, perhaps the alternate ending could give them the typical and overused finale that they were looking.

Transitioning from full-blown drama to almost slapstick comedy, Cranston revisited his “Malcolm in the Middle” role in the over three and a half-minute scene, in which he is seen waking up from “the scariest dream” that he has had.

Hal, his name in the defunct comedy show, woke up in bed with wife Lois (Kaczmarek) beside him. He was hysterical, telling Lois that he had a bad dream in which he described his “Breaking Bad” life as Walter White/Heisenberg, a meth producer and dealer, and that he encountered dubious characters, including “a waif, man child kid who always looked like he was wearing his older brother’s clothes,” referring to Pinkman, played by Aaron Paul.

When Hal tried to mimic Pinkman’s signature catchphrase, he wasn’t able to utter the word “b****,” which just further emphasised Hal’s stark difference from Walter.

“And then there was me, and I had a shaved head and a goatee and I wore a black hat. And the only thing that made sense in the whole dream is I still walked around in my underwear,” a frantic Hal told Lois.

Calm and collected as always, Lois just told Hal to go to sleep. And after a crude joke between the husband and wife, Hal told his wife, “good night, Skyler,” before the camera panned to Heisenberg’s fedora hat on the chair beside the bed.

The “alternate ending” was perhaps filmed after jokes that the real ending of “Breaking Bad” showed Walter White entering into a witness protection program and becoming Hal. Producers allegedly thought that instead of showing a serious alternate ending, a spoof would be better.

According to reports, the hilarious “Malcolm in the Middle” and “Breaking Bad” mash-up ending will be included in the complete “Breaking Bad” DVD box set that will be released on November 25.
