CBS’ award-winning comedy series “The Big Bang Theory" dropped a big bombshell on its Valentine’s Day themed installment on Thursday. On the episode titled “The Valentino Submergence,” Bernadette Wolowitz (Melissa Rauch) revealed that a baby is on the way. However, she chose to keep it a secret first from longtime boyfriend Howard (Simon Helberg).

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Howard and Bernadette bought a hot tub for two. The two were all set to take a dip and have their romantic moment, when Howard found a creature flopping around the water. At first, they thought it was a large rat, and they scurried to get rid of it. However, they soon discovered that it was a rabbit. Bernadette and Howard tried to revive the rabbit, but instead of gratitude, the animal bit Howard’s finger. He panicked and decided to rush to the hospital to have his wound checked.

It was at this point, when Howard left anxiously, that the baby surprise was unveiled. “We’ll find another time to tell him that I’m pregnant,” she mumbles to herself. As soon as she uttered the p-word, the live audience’s shock was heard.

Twitter fans were also quick to express their elation over the jaw-dropping news.

The official Twitter account of “The Big Bang Theory” also posted Bernadette’s photo, encouraging fans to congratulate the expectant mother.

Not everyone was happy on “The Valentino Submergence” episode, however. “The Big Bang Theory” featured a heartbreaking moment when Raj Koothrappali (Kunal Nayyar) broke up with Emily Sweeney (Laura Spencer). Raj dumped Emily for Claire, an aspiring writer that he just met. However, Claire, played by "American Horror Story" actress Alessandra Toressani, got back with her boyfriend. Raj tried to win Emily back, but she refused to forgive him.

Raj turned to their friends for advice. During a live broadcast of the podcast “Fun With Flags,” which was renamed “Dr. Sheldon Cooper and Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler Present Dr. Sheldon Cooper’s Fun With Flags,” Raj phoned in to talk about his love problems. Amy Fowler (Mayim Bialik) took the role of a counsel, but Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) did not welcome the program’s sudden reformat.

Meanwhile, Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny Hofstadter (Kaley Cuoco) also didn’t have much luck on Valentine’s Day. Their romantic dinner plans at a fancy restaurant turned into an In-N-Out drive-thru meal. The couple decided to liven up their evening by hijacking Sheldon’s live show while dressed in skimpy Cupid costumes.
