“Better Call Saul” will be returning to the small screen in just a few short weeks and audiences already know that Giancarlo Esposito’s Gus Fring will be making his grand introduction to the world of Jimmy McGill. But in order to fill the void of not knowing how the introduction will take place, fans have come up with some exciting theories.

In the final episode of the fourth season of “Breaking Bad,” the public watched as Fring died in a dramatic explosion. But back in the world of “Better Call Saul,” which is set some six years before “Bad,” Fring has not even made contact with the infamous Jimmy McGill, portrayed by Bob Odenkirk. But while it has been confirmed that Esposito is taking part of the third season, it is unclear how.

Gus Fring and Mike Ehrmantraut

Those who watched “Breaking Bad” will remember that Mike, portrayed by Jonathan Banks, was the Fring’s second-in-command. He was the head of security for Los Pollos Hermanos. And as Bustle has reported, it is likely that Fring will be introduced into the world of “Better Call Saul” because of Mike. Their paths undoubtedly cross at one point or another, and the upcoming season might just showcase their first meeting.

The publication went on to claim that it is possible that Fring will cause the pivotal moment in Mike’s life that will push him over the edge. Indeed, while audiences have seen Mike say he is willing to trade in his “half measures” for “full measures,” he has not actually taken a life in cold blood. The events of season 3, particularly those involving Fring, might be what causes him to finally pull that trigger.

Gus Fring and Jimmy McGill

Another theory, as noted by Yahoo, is that Fring will seek out Goodman to help him with some paperwork. More specifically, Fring will need Goodman to prepare the legal documents for Los Pollos Hermanos. The idea behind this is that Fring would never have let Goodman know about his illegal trades unless he was a well-trusted individual. And as those who watched “Breaking Bad” will remember, Goodman did know all about Fring’s illegitimate businesses.

“Better Call Saul” season 3 will debut on US network AMC on April 10. Australian audiences can stream the same on Stan, and it has recently been confirmed that it will aired on the same day.
