A British teenager is famous with girl fans of hit television series “Sherlock.” Reason? He looks very much like a young Benedict Cumberbatch. Tyler Michell from Norfolk in England has more than 19000 followers on Instagram and is very popular with girls because he is the teenage version of the Oscar-nominated actor.

Tyler is famous on Instagram where he posts selfies that make him look like the “Sherlock” star. The 17-year-old is often stopped at the road by strangers, who ask him about missing out on the Best Actor Oscar to Eddie Redmayne and which latest film is he doing. In an exclusive interview with The Telegraph, Tyler said that he has a huge fan base from many countries including Russia and The Philippines.

The teenager also tells his fans that he is not the “Sherlock” star but many fans are still happy to meet him and also take his picture and autograph. He does not sign as Benedict but offers them his own signature instead. The school-going teenager is also a big fan of Benedict and said he was very disappointed and “shocked” when the actor lost an Oscar to Eddie.

"This might be biased but I thought he was the best nomination. Even though he lost, it hasn't stopped the attention I get,” Tyler is quoted as saying to The Telegraph adding that he still gets “inundated with people” who message him on social media about his looks and also how much they like his work. He also told the website that the whole Benedict-look alike phase started as a “joke” by his family who teased him about his looks.

Tyler said he did not take things “seriously at first” and it was a shock to him when people would come to him in his school and tell him that he looked like the “Sherlock” actor. He started getting friend requests from “Sherlock” fans who wanted to add him on Facebook and other social media platforms. Tyler told the website that he gets many “crazy” requests from girls who want to visit him from Brazil. Many people also send him a message that he “should have won the Oscar.” But Tyler insists that he is “just a teenage boy sitting at home” and does not think he looks like the actor.
