While no solid sales figures have been revealed, players appear to have taken to “Battlefield Hardline,” the latest cops n’ robbers-themed entry in EA’s long-running franchise. Some interesting new stats show that most fans chose Sony’s PlayStation 4 to play “Hardline,” while the game’s first patch sees a number of big gameplay changes implemented, including the nerfing of the infamous “Battlefield” driveable couch.

Statistics on the popularity of “Battlefield Hardline” on PS4, Xbox One and PC come via GamingBolt and the PStats network, which tracked “Battlefield Hardline,” “Battlefield 3” and “Battlefield 4” traffic across all platforms for seven days. The data gathered shows that four times as many players played “Hardline” on PS4 than they did on Xbox One during the same period of time, with the PS4 besting even the historically strong PC version of the game.

Regardless of what platform gamers are playing on, they’ll be pleased to know that the first “Battlefield Hardline” patch has been deployed. The update fixes a number of pesky bugs and introduces a slew of gameplay tweaks. One such tweak is a reduction in health and repair rate for the previously reported driveable couch Easter egg. Visceral says the update was necessary to ensure that the couch remains the on-off item it was originally intended to be. A number of other weapons have also received tweaks to damage dealt, ammo amount, recoil and more. A full rundown of bug fixes and gameplay changes can be found on the official “Battlefield Battlelog.”

“If your favourite fix isn't listed here, don't despair - we're working hard every day to improve the experience, and we're always listening to feedback. Keep sharing your thoughts and point of view, and continue to engage in constructive dialogue with us and each other,” reads a message from Thad Sasser, lead multiplayer designer on “Battlefield Hardline.”

Those needing a leg up in “Hardline” can refer to a blog post on the “Battlefield” blog, which features a number of helpful tips from the developers themselves. The tips, especially helpful for players new to “Battlefield,” include suggestions to ensure gamers focus on objectives, spot enemies for teammates, create custom loadouts for specific situations and much more.

Despite deviating very little from the established formula, “Battlefield Hardline” appears to have been relatively well-received by critics and gamers. IGN rated the game an 8/10 in its review, highlighting the interesting characters, gameplay diversity and humorous writing. The game was released on March 17 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4 and PC.
