There has been talk about Treyarch’s take on this year’s “Call of Duty” title. For some time, there are hints of a World at War coming out, due to some of Treyarch’s teasers related to World War 2. However, a new finding may actually be pointing to a Black Ops 3.

A new viral marketing campaign may be in the works for “Call of Duty” Black Ops 3 this year. PC Gamer found new clues that published Activision has included Snapchat links in the “Black Ops 2” title. This was evident in the most recent update, which was spotted by one YouTube user Drift0r in the video below. The links go to the official “Call of Duty” Snapchat account.

Charlie Intel has already spotted a couple of short Snapchat clips related to “Call of Duty.” The teasers feature some footages, the first of which was a man telling the viewer to listen only to the sound of his voice. Another Snapchat teaser has someone saying to let the bad memories fade. The Snapchat account has reportedly been changed to “Dr. Salim,” which is significant because in one of the Snapchat footages, there is an image of “Dr. Salim” hidden in the image.

Treyarch has already been confirmed as the next developer of the three-developer cycle. Polygon previously reported that Activision’s Eric Hirshberg has confirmed this at an earnings call. Back then, Hirshberg mention that it will be full of innovations, but that’s the most that fans were able to hear of in terms of details. Since then, no other reveals or hints about the project had been teased.

As far as developer teasers are concerned, fans started talking about the supposed hints that Treyarch was giving over its official Facebook account. At the start of the year, there were teasers pointing to World War 2. Long-time fans of “Call of Duty” have gotten vibes of a possible World At War 2.

Given the new clues, this could go either way in terms of a sub-brand for “Call of Duty” this year. Apart from the new teasers spotted in “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2,” Treyarch has also been recently teasing some interesting tidbits in its official Facebook account. Most of these point to futuristic weapons and capabilities, such as embeddable implants, eyeball injections for night vision capabilities, and microchip implants. Whether or not this has any bearing on the next “Call of Duty” title remains to be seen.

Last year’s “Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare” was revealed early May. The timeline may be nearing for fans to finally know what the real sub-brand for COD 2015 will really be.
