The UK synopsis for “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” reveals new details about the film’s plotline. Bruce Wayne and Superman will have to put their hatred for each other aside as they team up to battle a new evil. Apparently, according to the synopsis, the Dark Knight and Kal-El are not just up against each other in the film as a new threat is bound to wreak havoc in Metropolis.

The UK synopsis for “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” posted by VUE Entertainment reveals Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) and Clark Kent ( Henry Cavill) will be battling a “dark new threat” in Metropolis. This threat is described to be in “the form of a third man.” This new villain in the film is said to be more powerful than Batman and Superman. So much so that he is capable of endangering the world and “cause total destruction.”

The synopsis also reveals how the people in Metropolis have divided thoughts about Superman’s presence in their city. For some he is still the emblem of hope. However, for others they still consider Superman as a threat to mankind, especially after his battle with General Zod (Michael Shannon) in “Man of Steel” caused the death of many people in Metropolis. Bruce Wayne is said to be among those who think that Superman is “a danger to society.”

“As far as Bruce Wayne is concerned, Superman is clearly a danger to society. He fears for the future of the world with such a reckless power left ungoverned, and so he dons his mask and cape to right Superman’s wrongs,” read the UK synopsis for “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

The synopsis’ mention of a man as the greater villain seems to point to rumours claiming Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) is the main antagonist in the film. He has been rumoured to be the mastermind of all the chaos that’s happening in the Metropolis. Nearing the end of the Zack Snyder film Luthor will reportedly suit up in an armor to battle Superman.

Other reports claim Luthor created Doomsday out of General Zod’s corpse so he can defeat Superman and Batman. Regardless, fans will eventually know who this “dark new threat” mentioned in the UK synopsis for “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” when the film opens in US theatres on March 25.
