News that Peter Dinklage will be leaving Game of Thrones might just be an April Fools prank, but some fans took it seriously and caused a huge outrage from viewers and followers of the hit HBO show.

IBTau recently reported an elaborate prank pulled by HBO watch, with the website stating that the award-winning actor will be replaced by another star, Warwick Davis. HBO Watch even made up "statements" said by Game of Thrones writer, George R.R. Martin and the show's producer David Benioff.

"It was a unanimous decision between David, myself, Peter and George. We want to take Tyrion in a more comedic, farcical direction and everyone including Peter agreed that he just wasn't the man for the job. I'll let the other guys speak for themselves but for me the choice was as clear as a crystal crown. Warwick Davis will be our new Tyrion Lannister!" Jokingly written by the site with the producer's persona behind the statement.

"Warwick was actually my pick back in 2009 when we first began looking at potential cast members. It finally hit me last week while taking an indefinite break from writing The Winds of Winter to catch up on some of my favorite movies. I think it was his epic role in Willow that finally convinced me. Such wit. Such... tenderness." Supposedly claimed George R.R. Martin.

Fortunately, none of these statements are true, and fans did not take the joke quite well. Some went on full wrath through social media sites, saying that the show will be "ruined" if Peter Dinklage is to be replaced by the "Life Is Too Short" actor.

"This is a bunch of sh*t garbage news," said one fan who outrageously spoke about the fake news.

"No one jokes about this kinds of things, especially on the day of the season premiere. How insensitive and cruel!" quips another fan.

"This can cause me to lose respect on the show entirely, what a way to juggle up my emotions on a very special day! Shame on you!" angrily mentions one viewer on Facebook.

After all the heat has come down, fans can return to being calm and enjoy Peter Dinklage's stay for the fourth season.
