Apple's Find My iPhone app has allowed its users to recover stolen iPhones, iPads and Macbooks. The app uses the location of the device to help owners track their stolen devices once they connect to the Internet.

The Find My iPhone app was once again instrumental in recovering a stolen SUV. Apple's app helped the police know the location of the stolen vehicle with a 5-year-old child inside.

A man in Houston, Texas, parked his car and rushed inside a store to buy something quickly. When he came out of the store, the SUV was no longer there along with his child who was sitting in the back seat.

Any parent would panic at the thought but not this quick-thinking father who fortunately had his iPad with him. He realised he left his iPhone inside the car. The father opened the Find My iPhone app to track the location of his car and child.

He immediately called the police and reported the location of his stolen vehicle using the Find My iPhone app. Lt. Wayne Schultz from the Harris County Precinct was interviewed by ABC News and said the father had an iPad with him that he used to track the movement of the stolen SUV. The officer on the line relayed the information to police officers on the field who were already looking for the car.

The police found the vehicle 15 minutes after it was reported stolen. The suspect was arrested and the child was left unharmed.

In another case of the app saving the day, a Canadian woman was able to recover her stolen iPhone. Vancouver police helped her track her stolen device using the Find My iPhone app. Candice Webster's iPhone was stolen from her bag along with $200 cash.

She had just activated her Find My iPhone app on her device a week before the theft happened. When she found out her phone was stolen, she opened her computer and logged into her Apple iCloud account. She was able to track the location of her iPhone in just around 2 minutes.

She continued to stay online, tracking her iPhone while the police proceeded to the location. The suspect was then arrested and her iPhone returned to her.

Apple's Find My iPhone app has saved the day again.
