Apple's much-awaited smartwatch, the Apple Watch, was introduced during the last quarter of 2014. According to latest reports, the Apple Watch release date is set towards the end of March 2015, specific to the U.S. Apparently, the company, headquartered in Cupertino, has reached the final stages of testing its gadget.

Notably, the release date is confirmed based on the leaked information about an internal program to train Apple Store employees about the new smartwatch. Based on the report, the training sessions will commence on Feb. 9 and will end on Feb. 16. Reportedly, several representatives from the Apple Stores will be flying to Apple headquarters to get trained on the job, says Phone Arena.

After this training session, the already trained store employees will in turn train other employees in their respective stores, several days before the Apple Watch launch in March. It is worth noting that the Apple Watch will reportedly be offered as three variants, namely a metal and glass clad sports model, a stainless steel version and a solid gold model. The costs pertaining to the aforesaid models are $350 for the base model, $500 for the stainless steel one and several thousand dollars for the luxury edition clad in gold.

Moving on to the key Apple Watch specifications, the company is reportedly gearing up to release two different sizes of the smartwatch namely 38 mm and 42 mm. Moreover, the watch will reportedly be high on fashion and potential buyers will be able to choose from six different casing choices. Furthermore, the watch's band can be substituted as required, says MacRumors.

Virtual Apple Watch

Meanwhile, an interactive prototype of the Apple Watch is making rounds online and this can be tried out by anyone via a browser. The site goes by the name "Demo Apple Watch" and apparently, this was built by the company that created the news app Pipes. This site allows anybody to play with a simulated Apple Watch prototype, without having to download any data, says The Next Web.

The demo consists of basic apps and a slew of mockups of apps like Instagram and Shazam. This demo gives an overall idea of how these apps might look in the actual watch. Interested readers can head to Demo Apple Watch to play with the virtual smartwatch.
