There are heavy expectations surrounding the announcement of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones at the Consumer Electronics Show, or CES, 2015. The event that started on Jan. 6 will be ending this Friday, Jan. 9. With two more days to go, there is no sign of an official announcement from the South Korean conglomerate on its 2015 flagship device. However, the rumours are skyrocketing, and according to latest reports, the alleged bent-display-clad Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge will be a limited-edition device.

Based on the information reported by Asian Economies, Samsung will manufacture only 10 million units of the Galaxy S6 Edge smartphone. Notably, the source quoted by the site are reportedly "industry insiders." To further corroborate the said statement, earlier rumours pointed out that the company will produce 45 million units of the S6 series of devices. This includes the flagship device Galaxy S6 and the 10 million units of the Galaxy S6 Edge model, reports GSM Arena.

As far as the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge features are concerned, the handset will reportedly be similar to the flagship device, with the same 5.5-inch display with QHD 1,440 × 2,560 pixel resolution. The phone will reportedly be powered by Samsung's Exynos 7420 chip bundled with an octacore processor and will be backed by 3 GB of RAM. Nonetheless, another set of reports point to the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. When it comes to memory, the device will be equipped with 32 GB of internal storage capacity.

With respect to the camera specification, there will reportedly be a killer 20 MP rear-facing camera unit and a respectable 5 MP front-facing shooter for selfies. Reports also say that unlike other Samsung handsets that come with polycarbonate chassis, the Galaxy S6 will feature an aluminium one, notes GSM Arena. In addition, the bent-glass display will not only be part of one side of the smartphone, similar to the Note Edge, but also on both sides of the S6 Edge, says the same site.

Furthermore, a credible source says that the Galaxy S6 will not be shown at the CES event, as claimed by earlier reports. Alternatively, the device will see the light of the day in Q2 2015. To be specific, the S6 could be launched in April, says GSM Arena. As mentioned, no official announcement regarding the S6 devices have been made yet by Samsung.
