Apple has refreshed its 12-inch MacBook and MacBook Air lineup. Without holding an unveil event, Apple has launched upgraded editions of 12-inch MacBook 2016 as well as 13-inch MacBook Air.

12-inch MacBook 2016

In the previous year, Apple had launched a 12-inch MacBook. According to the official press release, Apple has revealed an upgraded version of the notebook that is powered by the sixth generation Intel Core M processor. It now features a faster 1866 MHz RAM instead of the older one that worked at 1600 MHz

The Intel HD 515 graphics is 25 percent efficient than the GPU of the older model. Apart from the slight improvement in the specs, the 12-inch MacBook 2016 comes in a new colour of Rose Gold.

Since the notebook sports an enhanced processor and RAM, its battery performance has been improved. It can deliver 10 hours of internet browsing and 11 hours of iTunes video playback.

The new MacBook that features Intel Core M3 1.1 GHz dual-core processor, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB SSD is priced at $1299 (AU$1670). The other variant that features Intel Core M5 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB SSD carries a price tag of $1599 (AU$2055).

13-inch MacBook Air

The only improvement that Apple has made for MacBook Air is that it has made 8 GB RAM standard for all of its existing models. When the MacBook Air was launched in the previous year, it came with 4 GB of RAM on all the models. The 8 GB model could be purchased only from the Apple Store. The 11-inch MacBook Air model will continue to offer 4 GB RAM as standard.

MacBook Pro 2016

Rumours are rife that Apple will be announcing MacBook Pro 2016 at the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June. Speculations are rife that Apple will be unveiling a 13-inch and 15-inch editions MacBook Pro 2016. Both the variants are expected to sport thinner chassis and new design.
