Two-time grand slam champion Andy Murray is officially off the market. Murray has tied the knot with his girlfriend of nine years Kim Sears at the Dunblane Cathedral on April 11. The wedding took place a week after Murray’s last tournament, the 2015 Miami Open, where he reached the finals before losing to Novak Djokovic 6-7(3) 6-4 0-6. Murray skipped competing at the 2015 Monte Carlo Rolex Masters for the big day.

Prior the wedding, Murray tweeted various emoticons to his 2.99 million followers on Twitter to reveal the rollercoaster of emotions that he was feeling. The 27-year-old former Wimbledon champion donned the traditional blue and green kilt, while his bride looked dazzling in her embroidered three-quarter sleeves wedding dress.

The couple's wedding was attended by relatives and close friends. Fans of the British tennis star gathered around the wedding venue to catch a glimpse of the groom and his lovely bride. The reception immediately followed at Murray’s luxury Cromlix Hotel, the Daily Record reported.

However, Murray and Sears will not be jetting off on a honeymoon until the end of the season, according to his grandmother Shirley. It is likely that their honeymoon will take place after the the season-ending World Tour Finals, which take places in the middle of November.

After falling to the 12th place in the world rankings in September 2012, Murray is now sitting at the third spot. He is expected to return to competition at the ATP World Tour 250 event, 2015 BMW Open, from April 27 to March 5, 2015. This will be the first time that Murray will be taking part in the said clay court tournament.

Murray and Sears met during the 2005 US Open. Since then, Sears has always been an special spectator on Murray’s matches. They briefly parted ways in November 2009, but had got back together within months. It was in November 2014 when Murray announced that he and Sears were engaged.
