A tragic accident occurred during the wedding rehearsal of British tennis star Andy Murray when wedding photographer Gordon Jack, 47, fell ill and hit the ground. Gordon was immediately rushed to the hospital, but passed away a few hours later.

According to a report by Scottish Daily Record, Mr. Jack was taking pictures during Murray’s dress rehearsal at the Dunblane Cathedral on April 10. The photographer suddenly collapsed and hit the ground.

Murray is said to have stopped the rehearsal to check on Mr. Jack, but his security team escorted him back to continue the dress rehearsal. Mr. Jack was then taken by an ambulance to the Forth Valley Hospital in Larbert.

The report said that Mr. Jack was put in a medically-induced coma. Unfortunately, he eventually died due to complications after suffering a heart attack.

A few hours before the accident, Mr. Jack was still able to post pictures from the Dunblane Cathedral on his account on Twitter. Following his death, many have paid tributes and respect on the popular social networking site.

“@andy_murray nice day for a white wedding! #dunblane #kimsears,” Mr. Jack tweeted. “Mr. Jack tweeted. "Hope the weather holds! @andy_murray #dunblane #weddingbells,” another tweet said.

Mr. Jack owned the Scotimage Photography. Aside from his wedding gigs, he also did public relations and editorial work. His pictures have been utilised by various newspapers such as the Daily Record, Daily Mail, Express, and The Times. Mr. Jack is survived by his wife Ginny and three children, namely Megan, Sam, and Emily.

Murray wed his long-term girlfriend Kim Sears on April 11, six months after their engagement was announced. They have been boyrfriend and girlfriend for nine years before they finally tied the knot at the Dunblane Cathedral, surrounded by family members and close acquaintances. The reception followed at Murray’s Cromlix Hotel afterwards. Murray, who is currently ranked third in the men’s tennis world rankings, wore a traditional Scottish wedding kilt in blue and green, while Sears sported a white wedding gown with three-quarter sleeves.

Murray’s divorced parents Judy and William were present at the ceremony including Murray’s grandparents Shirley and Roy Erskine. Former professional British tennis player Tim Henman and his wife Lucy were also in attendance.
