Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OTA update now available for Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy Note 5

Samsung has finally released the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow to its 2014 flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S5. The update which began in South Korea on March 21 is now also available for users across the world. Other smartphones like the Galaxy Note 4, Note Edge and Note 5 are also in the process of receiving the Android 6.0/6.0.1 Marshmallow update.
Samsung Galaxy S5 Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Update
The Samsung Galaxy S5 with model number SM-G900L, which belongs to Trinidad and Tobago, is already currently receiving the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update, Ubergizmo reported. In the US, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon Wireless are expected to begin the update by next month. Meanwhile, rumours indicate that T-Mobile has already finished the testing process of the Android M update for its Galaxy S5 users.
The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update for Samsung Galaxy S5 weighs 1.47 GB. It is an incremental update of Android 6.0 Marshmallow that includes features such as Google Now on Tap, 200+ emojis, and Doze Mode. It also includes the latest security patch for this month. Samsung has skipped the Android 6.0 to directly release Android 6.0.1 to its Galaxy S5 owners.
Since it is an OTA update, Galaxy S5 users will be automatically notified on the arrival of the software upgrade. Users can also manually check for its arrival by navigating to About Phone > System updates > Check for update. Users are required to use a Wi-Fi connection to download the massive firmware file.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Note Edge, Note 5 Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Update
Users of Galaxy Note 4 and Note 5 on Sprint have started receiving the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update, while Verizon Wireless has also released the update for its Galaxy Note 5 users. AT&T and T-Mobile are likely to release the update soon for its Note 5 users.
A leaked roadmap of the Android M update for Samsung devices revealed that Note 4 and Note Edge users are expected to receive the latest Android version by April. T-Mobile has also already confirmed the Android 6.0 update for its Note 4 and Note Edge users and it is expected to make it available by next month.
