During her famed life, singer Amy Winehouse became very public about her battle with drug addiction and alcoholism, and here are the photos that prove it.

Even before the death of Amy Winehouse, her constant drug abuse and love for alcohol has made her a paparazzi staple, especially when she is seen in public looking disheveled and incoherent. Since the release of her second album "Back to Black" in 2006, the singer has always been in and out of legal trouble concerning drugs. In October 2007, Winehouse was arrested in Norway for drug possession while she was on tour. In a separate incident, the singer was videotaped (exposed by The Sun) smoking cracked cocaine using a glass pipe. The singer, who has been in and out of rehab with a last stint at London's Priory Clinic, tried to kick her habit a couple of times; but the availability of drugs ultimately made it difficult for the late vocal talent.

Some might say it is too soon to blame the singer's death on alcohol and drugs especially with the police report confirming that there were no drugs found in the singer's apartment on the night of her death. Over the weekend, a drug fixer from London named Tony Azzopardi says Winehouse contacted him on July 22 asking to "score" drugs. He then told a UK paper that he handed £1,200 worth of crack cocaine to Winehouse before he left the singer near her Camden Square apartment. According to Azzopardi, he decided to come forward because he wanted the Winehouse family to "know what really happened". The Winehouse family says Azzopardi's statements do not correspond to Amy's final hours, where she was believed to have stayed in her apartment playing instruments all night.

In a separate statement made by Mitch Winehouse, the singer's father, Amy has been clean for more than 3 months, especially with the companionship of her current boyfriend Reg Traviss. It is believed that Amy died due to a seizure caused by drug withdrawals or going "cold turkey". If that speculation is a fact, it is very unfortunate and tragic that her determination to stay away from substance abuse led to her early demise.
