On Dec 9 in a UEFA Champions League match Aaron Ramsay scored a wonder goal form 35 yards out from a half-volley using his weaker left foot that rocketed inside the Galatasaray goal. His manager would not have wanted him to shoot from that distance as the probability that it would have been a goal was very low. Thank God he did so. Apparently the retired Norwegian centre forward loved it so much that he tweeted to label it as the best thing to have come out of Wales since the Hollywood star Catherine Zeta-Jones.

There was a time, just two years back when he was not a regular scorer for his club. In fact there was a series of weird co-incidences each time he did score, which would not be more than five per season. A day after he scored against Manchester United in May 2011 Osama bin Laden would die. That October when he scored against Tottenham Hotspurs Steve Jobs passed away a day later same month he scored against Marseille and Colenel Gaddafi died a day later. Again when he scored against Sunderland next year in February Whitney Houston was found dead in her bathroom in Los Angeles.

Last season was a breakthrough year for him at Arsenal Football Club. He scored 16 times in all competitions and was instrumental in winning them their first silverware in nine years. He was again instrumental in winning them the Community Shield this year as well. Unfortunately for him and the club this season he has not been a regular in the first team because of a series of injuries that has kept him on the sidelines. Needless to say the performance of his club has suffered as a result of that as well. Now he is back again and having scored, by his own admission, the best goal of his career so far he would hope to turn the ailing fortunes of his club once more.
