Rapper 50 Cent is certain that Floyd Mayweather Jr. will win over Manny Pacquiao that's why he’s betting a huge chunk of money on the American. According to 50 Cent, Mayweather is extremely "focused" on the fight, which is why he is convinced that Mayweather will be able to prolong his winning streak on May 2.

In an interview with New York’s Power 105.1 radio show The Breakfast Club, 50 Cent was asked about his thoughts on the upcoming mega-buck fight between his friend and the Filipino boxing icon. The rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, also revealed how much money he is willing to bet on Mayweather beating Pacquiao.

“I got the champ, the champ’s going to smoke him (Pacquiao),” 50 Cent said. “It’s going to look like (the fight) was pumped up for no reason.”

The rapper added that he is willing to bet as high as $1.6 million for the fight or equivalent to more than AU$2 million. If Mayweather wins, 50 Cent would double the amount of money he put at stake for the fight.

50 Cent reportedly ran into Mayweather at Barclays during Chris Brown’s concert. 50 Cent said that it has been a while since he spoke to Mayweather, after both had been involved in a bit of altercation last year. He said that their meeting went okay. They were able to straighten out whatever issues they had in the past. He said that it had just gotten worse because they weren’t speaking to each other then.

When the fight was announced, Mayweather opened as a 2.5 to 1 favourite to win the fight, but it seems like people are starting to believe that Pacquiao has a chance to give Mayweather his first defeat, The Associated Press reports. People have reportedly started betting on Pacquiao. Bets as high as $10,000 have been recorded over the last few days. Jimmy Vaccaro, who has booked bets on boxing fights in the last 40 years, said that he had never seen Mayweather this low two months before the fight night.

“It’s a one-way attack on Pacquiao,” Vaccaro said. “We’re well into a six-figure loss right now if Pacquiao wins.”

The latest odds at South Point sports book, which Vaccaro manages, still favour Mayweather at minus-200 while Pacquiao rests at plus-170. Mayweather now has less than 2 to 1 advantage over Pacquiao.
