A picture of Manny Pacquiao wearing a red shirt that shows an image of Pac-Man about to chomp up on a dollar symbol has circulated online and on various media outlets suggesting that the Filipino boxer is insulting Floyd Mayweather Jr. discreetly. The said picture was apparently not real and was photoshopped by people not connected with Pacquiao.

The humble Filipino fighter may have started a war of words between him and Mayweather but he would never wear that T-shirt mocking the unbeaten American boxer, according to a post by Boxing Hype on Twitter. It appears that the real picture shows Manny sporting a red T-shirt with the Nike and his own logo printed on the top left corner. It was not revealed when the picture was taken or at what training camp did Manny wore the T-shirt.

“I knew Manny would never wear that shirt,” Boxing Hype tweeted. “It was photoshopped by guys making these shirts smh @sham_ayub.”

Boxing Socialist, a social networking site for boxing fans, further confirmed that the photo was forged. However, Boxing Socialist commended the person behind the photoshopped picture and said that whoever is the person behind it could start producing the shirts and selling them leading up the May 2 showdown between Pacquiao and Mayweather.

Neither Pacquiao nor Mayweather made any statement about the viral photo. Both fighters are currently working on their respective training camps as they continue their preparations for the highly-anticipated mega buck showdown on May 2 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao and Mayweather could reportedly split $300 million from the super fight, claims Top Rank promoter Bob Arum. Arum was speaking during an interview with ESPN’s Friday Fight Nights. With the 60-40 purse split, Mayweather and Pacquiao are slated to receive as much as $180 million and $120 million, respectively.

Mayweather’s highest-grossing fight came when he fought Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in 2013. The fight reportedly earned $200 million in revenues. Many believe that the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight could make record-breaking sales and surpass huge previous fights as boxing's richest sporting event ever.
