Meizu MX4 was unveiled in September. The MX4 is a mid-range smartphone with impressive specifications. However, now we have information on the high-end MX4 model dubbed "Meizu MX4 Pro." The MX4 Pro is expected to be launched on October 28.

The upcoming Meizu MX4 Pro will reportedly come with a 5.4-inch display similar to the MX4. However, the screen resolution of the MX4 Pro is heightened to 1,536 x 2,560 pixels (2K display), whereas the original MX4 comes with 1,152 x 1,920 pixels. The interesting feature however is the addition of a fingerprint scanner engrafted on the home button, reports Phone Arena.

Other flagship smartphones to boast such a scanner are Samsung Galaxy S5, Apple iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and Galaxy Note 4, to name a few. In addition to the scanner, the Meizu MX4 Pro will be powered by a superior octa-core (Samsung Exynos 5430) processor. Notably, the original MX4 features an octa-core (MediaTek) processor.

Furthermore, the device will be backed by a good 3 GB+ of RAM. However, rumours are still pointing to a killer 4 GB of RAM. When it comes to camera, the MX4 Pro will sport a solid 20 MP front-facing unit, in addition to a mind-blowing 13 MP front-facing shooter to capture crystal-clear selfies. Speaking of OS, the handset will run on Android KitKat OS with Meizu's Flyme v4.0 UI on top of it. The price of Meizu MX4 Pro is pegged to be 2,499 CNY in China, which roughly translates to US$406 and AU$462.

Readers should note that the original Meizu MX4 has recently been released internationally. Therefore, the Meizu MX4 Pro will also be made available across globe, upon release. It is worth noting that, the original Meizu MX4 is available for purchase from Sept. 20 internationally. Bai Yongxiang, CEO of Meizu, boasted that a total of 7.7 million MX4 units have been pre-ordered. The original MX4 (16 GB variant) can be purchased for $449 in the U.S. While the 32 GB variant will set the buyers back by $489. Furthermore, the aforementioned prices cover import and shipping charges and it is available in selected regions like Asia, Europe, North America, Australia, New Zealand and Africa, reports GSM Arena. Potential buyers should check out Meizu Mart to avail Meizu MX4.
