The original Samsung Galaxy Tab S series of tablets were released in July. Now there is a new LTE-A variant reportedly in the offing.

According to latest reports, Korea will be the first market to get this LTE-A version of the Galaxy Tab S. This information recently came from Geekbench database, according to GSM Arena . The upcoming tablet is tied to the model number SM-T805S, and the processor powering the tablet is a superior octa-core (Exynos 5433) CPU. The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and the bigger version Galaxy Tab S 10.5 are powered by an octa-core Samsung's Exynos 5420 SoC, GSM Arena reports.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S with LTE-A's release date is expected between mid-October and early-November in Korea. Nevertheless, there is no official information available to ascertain the release date globally.

When it comes to other key specifications, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S features two display variants: 10.5-inch and 8.4-inch display with 1,600 x 2,560 pixels resolution. The tablet runs on Android v4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz UI on top of it. It is also equipped with 16 GB and 32 GB of built-in storage and microSD card for expansion up to 128 GB. The Tab S sports a good 8 MP camera on the back and a 2.1 MP shooter at the front. The device is powered by a solid 4900 mAh battery unit. It also comes with a fingerprint sensor for unlocking the tablet.

Design-wise, the Galaxy Tab S is identical to the Galaxy S5 smartphone, with the same dotted/perforated, soft-touch rear panel, according to CNet. The site also reports that the design is a good improvement to the glossy, plastic-looking Tab series released earlier. Furthermore, the unique selling point of the Tab S is the killer display quality. For the first time, Samsung has introduced the notable Super AMOLED display technology in tablets, and the reviews have been impressive. Apparently, the WQXGA (2,560 x 1,600 pixels) Super AMOLED display has the ability to deliver more than 90% of Adobe RGB colour array. In addition, the contrast ratio of the Tab S tablet stands at an astonishing 100,000:1, meaning a stellar viewing experience is guaranteed with the Galaxy Tab S device, according to TechTimes.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S (16 GB, LTE) model can be purchased for AU$669.95. The 16 GB Wi-Fi variant, on the other hand, is available for AU$549.95.
