The 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards is making fans more involved this time with the introduction of several new categories. The award-giving body now has 16 categories to vote in.

This is the first time that MTV has categories such as Best Kiss, Best Duo and Best Villain. Other new categories include Best Host, Best Reality Competition, Show of the Year and Next Generation.

“Get Out" leads the list with six nominations including three nods for leading man David Kaluuya in the categories of Best Actor in a Movie, Next Generation and Best Duo along with Lil Rel Howery.

NBC hit drama “This is Us” garnered four recognitions including Show of the Year. Mandy Moore is nominated for Best Actor in a Show, while Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) and young Randall (Lonnie Chavis) scene during the latter karate class is including in Tearjerker category. “This is Us” star Chrissy Metz (adult Kate Pearson) also got a nod in Next Generation category.

Disney’s latest live-action movie “Beauty and the Beast” and Netflix’s “Stranger Things” have two chances each to receive the golden popcorn award. “Game of Thrones,” “Atlanta,” “Hidden Figures,” “Logan,” “Moonlight” and “This Is High” have three nominations each.

Actor Adam DeVine will host the event. Voting is now open at MTV.com. Two additional categories will be revealed closer to the show, according to MTV.

The 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards will air live from Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium on May 7 at 8:00 p.m. ET. The event will also air on May 8 at 10:00 a.m. in Australia and 12:00 p.m. in New Zealand in MTV Channel.
