Eddie Redmayne and his wife Hannah Bagshawe confirmed that they were expecting a baby in June. the couple made the news at the 73rd Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday night.

The British actor and his wife walked the red carpet at the ceremony with all eyes on them. It was reported at the end of last year that the couple were expecting a child.

The Hollywood actor looked dapper in a black tuxedo with self-embroidered flowers all over. Redmayne paired his tux with a crisp white shirt, matching pocket square and a black bow-tie. He completed his look with a pair of matching shoes.

His publicist wife looked gorgeous in a black gown that drew attention to her tiny bump with its empire waist. Mum-to-be Hannah had that pregnancy glow about her as she supported her husband on his big night. She accessorised with a necklace and wore only natural make-up.

Walking the awards red carpet together as parents-to-be for the first time, Redmayne and Hannah had plenty to smile about. “So much has happened [this year] that we can’t even compute,” said Hannah, talking to Ryan Seacrest. He gifted the couple with two cute onesies or babygro, “You Should See My Crib” and “Milking My 15 Minutes” written over it, People reports.

The couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary on Dec. 15. They are reportedly “extremely excited” at the prospect of welcoming a baby. Hannah and Redmayne had shared the happy news with close friends and family last year and also did not want to find out the sex of the baby, The Sun reported.

The 34-year-old actor was nominated for his Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture -- Drama for his role in “The Danish Girl.” But, unfortunately the gong went to Leonardo DiCaprio for “The Revenant." The BAFTA nominated actor said it was a “treat” to attend the ceremony.

The star was recognised in 2015 for his stellar performance as Stephen Hawking in “The Theory of Everything.” Fans will be able to watch the talented actor in films like “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” which is a spin-off of JK Rowling’s successful Harry Potter series, Hello reports. The movie is scheduled for release in November.
