2 men extradited to NSW after allegedly raping 10-month-old baby

Two men have been arrested for allegedly raping a 10-month-old baby girl for three hours last year. The duo, who were extradited from Victoria and put behind bars in NSW on Tuesday, are facing several child sexual assault and pornography charges.

One of the men is believed to be the girl’s father. Both men are 50 years old, while the child was just 10 months old when she was allegedly subjected to sexual abuse in April 2015.

According to the police, the incident happened in central west NSW. The first man is accused of a number of charges, including taking intimate photos of the girl, raping her, and using his mobile phone to share and solicit child pornography.

The other man allegedly had sexual intercourse with the girl and produced child pornography, according to news.com.au. He also apparently “did incite the commission” of a sexual assault on the victim.

The men came to the attention of the NSW State Crime Command’s Child Abuse Squad after Victoria officers searched a third man’s address in March and discovered disturbing materials. They were arrested in Melbourne on Tuesday and were flown to Sydney. They did not appear at the Waverly Local Court, where their case was being heard on Thursday.

“The sexual assault, or alleged sexual assault, of a 10-month-old child is beyond belief,” Detective Chief Inspector Peter Yeomans told reporters. As for the victim, who is now just over two years old, she is out of harm’s way. “She is in care at the moment,” Yeomans said.

The men did not apply for bail, though they will get another chance to ask for release on bail when their case is heard next week.

Last month, another father was sentenced to 22 years for raping and pimping out his own daughter. The West Australian father used the girl, who was only 11 when she was first abused in 2013, as a “sexual object.

Also in June, a court had heard how a Melbourne mum helped her adult nephew rape her own daughter. The mother, 55, pleaded guilty to sexual penetration of a child and indecent act with a child. The daughter was only 12 years old when she was raped in 2011.
