On Sunday, a family in south of Brisbane found their 10-year-old son dead in his bedroom. An ambulance was immediately called and the boy was taken to the nearby hospital, according to Perth Now. Queensland police declared it a crime scene and have prevented people from accessing the house.

The boy’s aunt ,who had taken care of him since he was two, has been hospitalised with a medical condition, reported Detective Acting Inspector Tony Geary. He confirmed that the boy was alone with his carer while the news of death came around, according to TV News Room. However, he refused to comment on the state of the aunt.

Meanwhile, Mr Geary said that the police have been talking to the aunt to which she has been responding. The date of a formal interview is yet to be finalised as she hasn’t been discharged from the hospital, Queensland police confirmed. Family members of the deceased boy have been cooperating with the police in their investigation.

Mr Geary told ABC News that forensic experts have been conducting a post mortem to determine the causes behind the death of such a young child. He further stated that they have listed suspicious circumstances which would be investigated thoroughly to get to the root of the matter.

Police reported that the child had two siblings, a younger brother, aged 9, and an elder sister, aged 11. Family and their friends have been taking care of the two since the incident has affected them badly.

The mother of the child, who has been residing elsewhere in Queensland, has been given the news and advised on the situation. However, the father of the child remains unknown at the moment. According to ABC, people living in the vicinity said that the children lived in the house with their parents and reported that they were normal and kind.
