Every week brings PlayStation gamers a fresh bounty of fun new games and this week’s release is more anticipated than most. On March 24, gamer’s will be able to get their hands on PS4 exclusive “Bloodborne,” as well as “Borderlands: The Handsome Collection,” “Slender: The Arrival” and much more.

The PlayStation Blog features the full list of this week’s new games. Leading the charge is “Bloodborne,” the latest masterpiece from “Demon’s Souls” and “Dark Souls” creator, Hidetaka Miyazaki. “Bloodborne” sees players take on the role of a hunter, exploring the plague-ridden town of Old Yharnham. As is customary for games from Miyazaki, “Bloodborne” features challenging, unforgiving combat set in a world dripping with atmosphere and shrouded in mystery.

“What I want is for our core users to really get the sense of accomplishment and achievement that comes with overcoming the hardest challenges a game can present. That level of challenge will vary depending on who you’re talking to, but it’s that exhilaration moment,” said Miyazaki when speaking to Hero Complex.

As noted by Eurogamer, the “Bloodborne” download weighs in at 41GB, though gamers can start playing once an initial 5.04GB download is complete. There’s an additional day-one patch to download, which brings the game up to version 1.01 and enables online play, enhances performance, squashes bugs and adds the “Bloodborne” Chalice Dungeons feature. While gamers in the U.K. have to wait till March 27 to play the game, they also get a very cool pair of special edition boxes, the Nightmare and Collector’s Editions, as featured on the PlayStation Access YouTube channel.

It’s not all tense, hack-n’-slash survival horror though, as this week also sees the release of “Borderlands: Handsome Collection.” This remastered PS4 collection includes “Borderlands 2” and “Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel,” as well as all previously released DLC. The game has been tuned to run at 1080p and 60fps, and features local split-screen multiplayer for up to four players and the ability to transfer saves from the PS3 and Vita versions of both games.

Another From Software title gets a release this week, PSone mech-shooter classic, “Armored Core” will take gamers on a fun nostalgia trip, as will PS2 classic, “Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore.” Sidescrolling run and gun shooter, Metal Slug 3 is a cross-buy title for PS3, PS4 and PS Vita and terrifying indie horror game, “Slender: The Arrival” also makes its debut.
