Guerrilla Games’ “Horizon: Zero Dawn” may be the next hot franchise come 2016. And Sony believes that it can extend beyond being a PS4-exclusive video game. The Japanese company sees the title’s potential in the licensing space, with plans already brewing to put “Horizon: Zero Dawn” in the areas of toys, apparels, collectibles, stationery and more.

“Guerrilla Games have created a lush post-apocalyptic world that players simply won't want to leave and licensed merchandise offers consumers a way to extend that extraordinary experience into their everyday lives," said David Evans, licensing manager for SCEE, as quoted by Licensing.biz.

SCEE will be showcasing “Horizon: Zero Dawn” at Brand Licensing Europe on stand F050. BLE 2015 will take place between Oct. 13 to Oct. 15 at Olympia, London.

Developer Guerrilla Games is also set on making “Horizon: Zero Dawn” into one of its successful IPs to date. Previously, DualShockers reported that the company has been designing every aspect of the game with a purpose and trying to maintain a balance between futuristic and ancient scenery.

The game’s main protagonist Aloy is a skilled hunter who explores a lush world filled with mysterious mechanized creatures. It embarks the player on a journey to unravel mysteries of tribal societies, ancient artifacts and advanced technologies which in turn will determine the fate of this planet and life itself.

The action role-playing game has a full day/night cycle and involves the players exploring forests, mountains and ruins from a past civilization, Gamespot reported. Also, the game’s female character Aloy, was born out of the desire to have a strong character similar to the likes of Sarah Connor in "Terminator," Ripley in "Alien" or more recently, Ygritte from "The Game of Thrones."

The PlayStation 4 exclusive will available in 2016. “Horizon: Zero Dawn” does not contain a multiplayer mode but has been augmented with certain social features that are yet to be announced.
