Consumers are given a feature to tell their smartphones to do something and if it's done the right way, it could feel like a jackpot. Among the SVoice on the GS4, Voice Command on the Moto-X and Siri of iPhone 5S (iOS7), Moto-X and Siri generally deliver similar experiences but SVoice does not perform as well.

Voice commands can dictate text messages and e-mails, open apps, make calls, search information and play music. iPhone and Android use many similar commands and though your choice of platform may not greatly affect your voice command experience and phone choice.

Moto-X would beat the GS4 voice command early on in an Android speech battle. The GS4 is fine but when compared to the Moto-X, it takes twice as long to respond and very hard to use if there are noises like an airplane or music in the background.

Siri and the Moto-X voice command are similar with how quickly and correct the responses are. Everything from a random Web search to a weather check often yields the same results. It was a surprise that all three phones performed much better than before. Android phones can even tell jokes when asked, which only Siri used to do before. While Siri is already a personal assistant, the Android Voice Command is also now developing a personality.

In things that really matter though, Siri still does the best job talking to her boss like a real person vs. a robot. She does a stellar job reading and sending text messages, dictating e-mails and posting social media stuff. She even does it with punctuation. She does a good job scheduling appointments, checking calendars, making dinner reservations and finding a movie showing nearby. Girl bosses can even change it to become a male voice option for a male assistant.

Android still wins over Siri when it comes to reliable directions. It also delivers detailed Web searches and opens just by hearing "Okay Google Now" or "Hi Galaxy," making it truly a hands-free winner. Both Siri and the Android Voice Command can still be pretty funny or interesting in things they can wrong or mishear. The smackdown is a tie with the user being the winner as its phones get even smarter.
