A Samsung Galaxy S8 leak has revealed two new design additions on front and back. Most leaks have shown extremely thin bezels for a larger display as that in the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. The latest leak has shown the Galaxy S8 handset to be having the “Samsung” branding on the front. At first it was thought that there wouldn’t be room for branding. The top 1/4-inch of the screen will be hard-coded for branding purposes. If this is true, it would mean a sheer waste of screen real estate, especially after racking brains on decreasing bezel size.

According to known tipster Evan Blass, the position of the fingerprint scanner in the Samsung Galaxy S8, will also be altered. Instead of merging it with the Home button or placing it just below the rear camera, Samsung is reportedly placing it beside the camera module. This means, users have to move their fingers to the right to activate the scanner and unlock the device. This is because a user’s fingers naturally do not rest on that spot. Blass has also hinted at placing the scanner above the camera module, writes Tech 2.

Both these design options seem a little strange and unbelievable. However, Blass is not the kind of leakster who posts false information on his Twitter account. Even if Samsung emblazons its logo on the front, it should also be ready with a software update to remove it should fans start complaining, notes Forbes. Tech experts have stated that chances are that Samsung will ultimately go with a fingerprint scanner embedded in the display. Samsung has not stated when it is planning to unveil the Galaxy S8 though Match/April is highly plausible.

Delaying the launch is a way to reassure fans that Samsung is on its toes and on the top of the Galaxy Note 7 disaster. Stay tuned on IBT AU for more updates on the highly-expected Samsung Galaxy S8 handset.
