Gaming peripheral company Razer unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas a tablet that's designed for gamers.

Developed with Intel Corp., Project Fiona has twin joystick controller handles on each side of the tablet to provide for additional gameplay options beyond current touch-screen tapping.

Powered by Intel's Core i7 processor, Razer's tablet promises performance of a fully functioning PC.

"It will run your high-end PC games and Angry Birds," says Razer CEO and Creative Director Min-Liang Tan. "We have brought in the best of the Sixaxis on the PlayStation and best of the iPad interface and best of Xbox interface, all integrated."

The tablet will run on Windows 8 and be powered by a third-generation Intel Core i7 processor. Players can download PC games from online providers such as Steam, GameFly and Amazon.com or use it to play cloud-based streaming games.

"We are trying to do something beyond the ultrabook and tablet trend," Tan says. "This is the only tablet designed specifically for PC gaming. It runs PC games run out of the box and PC games represent the largest catalog of games in the world."

Project Fiona will run full-fledged PC games that have never run on a tablet form factor before.
