The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that the average American shower takes about 8 minutes and uses around 2.5 gallons of water per minute or around 20 gallons of water per person. Heating water for showers is exceedingly energy-intensive as a five-minute shower consumes the same energy as that of a 60-watt light bulb running for 22 hours, according to the agency. Interestingly, the team behind RainStick Shower aims to bring down excessive water and energy usage.

Save Water, Save Energy

RainStick Shower is the latest WiFi-enabled smart shower that offers almost twice the flow of a traditional low-flow shower while saving 80% water and energy. The company behind the new smart shower utilizes proprietary water circulation technology which recovers water and energy usually wasted.

The technology recycles the water while a person is in the shower. The water is reused after hair, soap, dirt and other impurities are removed from it.

Unlike the traditional shower which lets the water flow to the drain, RainStick Shower collects, recirculates and reuses the water up to six times before it is finally released in the drain. It uses a three-stage process that treats water while removing viruses and bacteria.

RainStick water goes through a 3-stage process that removes larger hair and debris and even kills bacteria and viruses. All of these happen in real-time, which means users will not experience any delay while taking a shower.

The volume of water and amount of energy each household using RainStick Shower will save depends on several factors. This includes the household showering habit, location, how the water is heated and the amount being paid for water and electricity.

There is an online calculator on the product's official website to assist consumers to estimate their annual savings. Aside from that, the RainStick Shower comes with a smart controller that monitors the real-time use of water and the system.

Optimum Shower Experience

RainStick Shower provides the optimum rainshower experience that cleanses the hair and washes off the shampoo while cutting down on the volume of water usage. Even if it offers an 80% water savings, it delivers double the flow rate (3 GPM) of a conventional shower (1.8 GPM).
