Queensland phone coverage and data service restored
According to ABC Online, Telstra articulated that customers who are feeling financially hurt by yesterday's technical trouble in Queensland may lodge their claims for compensation.
Yesterday, areas in Queensland experienced data service and mobile phone coverage disruption for 12 hours.
Craig Middleton, a Telstra spokesman told ABC Online that the cause is still under scrutiny but a system is available for claims of compensation which is considered on a case to case basis.
Customers who believe that they have been affected by a form of financial disruption may pursue the claims by visiting the Telstra's official web site, www.telstra.com.
Mr. Middleton also stated that the system was rebooted and the service was finally restored last night.
He added, "It saw data flow back on to our mobile network - that started at about [6:15pm last night]."
According to him, Telstra managed to restore the NextG Network by 6:55pm AEST, whereas the cause of the disruption throughout the day remains under scrutiny.
Telstra has got systems engineers and network supplier people working on the problem, and international experts looking at the system retrieved data.
