The PS4 firmware update 2.0 is one of the more awaited updates, mostly because it's bringing bigger changes to the PS4. Most notable of this would be the Share Play, which makes your PS4 a virtual couch where you can play with for 60-minute intervals even though they don't have a copy of your game.

It appears that Sony's Fred Dutton managed to give a few clues for fans. PlayStation Lifestyle found his response in the comments section, hinting that the PS4 firmware update 2.0 is coming nearer.

"As previously announced, there's a big PS4 update just round the corner that we'll be talking more about soon," Dutton said as quoted by PlayStation Lifestyle. Alongside this comment, Dutton did mention that updates area always in the works, meaning that the timeframe of September to December given for the PS4 firmware update 2.0 may really be delivered on time.

Project Morpheus: Moving The PS4 To More Social

Sony's virtual reality accessory, the Project Morpheus, may be more than just a gaming device, given SCE London Studio's plans for the headset. In an interview with Digital Spy, director Dave Ranyard shared his thoughts about how a social component in the virtual reality experience can bring more to the table.

"Having that social screen is really important to us. There's actually quite a lot you can do with that. We've been doing lots of companion apps as well--you can interact, you can see what they're seeing," Ranyard said to Digital Spy.

As far as the Project Morpheus is concerned, the developer team seems to still be in the drawing boards, as the device remains a prototype. Compared to the Oculus Rift, which has even made strides in the mobile gaming industry with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 companion Gear VR, there are still a lot of maybes when it comes to the Project Morpheus. But if Sony is planning to put a social context into the Project Morpheus, it would be interesting to see where this will be in terms of competition with Oculus Rift.
