There are various news sources speculating that Apple's next generation iPhone or iPhone 5 will soon be available in the market by September, 2012. Aside from the rumors regarding the newest iPhone, there are also rumors speculating about the nearing release date of a mini iPad from Apple.

Latest Update for Apple's iPhone 5

According to a report by Digitimes, Pegatron Technology has received orders for the next iPhone from Apple. The orders are supposed to be done just in time for the launch of the next-generation iPhone in September. Digitimes also mentioned in the report that "Pegatron has already finished expanding its equipment and labor force for Apple's orders." Pegatron is currently an OEM for Apple's iPhone 4S and the new iPad. There have been rumors about the next-generation iPhone since the beginning of the year. Though that is the case, this is the first time that a new release date was mentioned. It was initially reported that it will have a release date similar with the previous iPhone launch before. Apple's iPhone 4S was launched mid-October last year.

Apple has also started taking steps in order to secure the iPhone5.com domain name. Apple has filed a complaint with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in regards to challenging the iphone5.com domain. This domain is currently utilized in hosting a forum for Apple fans in order to discuss the upcoming iPhone. Apple has long been acquiring domain names that are associated with their upcoming products. Though that is the case, this latest move from Apple is somewhat out of the ordinary since the company usually takes initiative against domain names after the Apple product has been officially launched in the market. This is usually done in order to protect the information from leaking to the public before the official announcement.

Eric Slivka from MacRumors expressed the same sentiment stating "Given that Apple typically doesn't pursue domain names for its products until after they launch, lest their names be revealed ahead of time by the negotiation process, it seems odd that Apple is already seeking to gain control of iPhone5.com." Some people believe that this could be a ploy by Apple in order to divert the attention of people or it just means that Apple has not yet decided on the official product name.

Additional Mini iPad Rumors

Pegatron Technology has also disclosed information that they also received rumors for a 10-inch iPad from Apple. The mini iPad is supposed to be launched in the market by fourth quarter of this year. Aside from that, the report from Digitimes also mentioned that "a 7-inch iPad, which reportedly will be released in August, will be manufactured by Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry)."

The mini iPad is said to Apple's answer for low-end priced tablets such as Amazon Kindle Fire. Rumored specification of the mini iPad includes a 7.86-inch screen, 1024 x 768 screen resolution display, and selling price between US$299 to US$249.
