This year would be the second anniversary of "PlanetSide 2," and to commemorate this milestone, the developers have gone to great lengths promoting the theme and spirit of Halloween. Complete with horror stories of urban legends, the team introduced a month long event, Nanites of the Living Dead along with their October patch making significant improvements in the game mechanics and modifications in the game, which have impacted the gameplay experience significantly.

Through a series of continent-wide alerts, the factions have to conquer and gather the resource advantage each continent provides. This October, there comes Halloween special alerts named the Pumpkin Hunt -- where players shoot them for seeds, used as in-game currency to purchase spooky themed masks, enabling the players to flaunt their haunting side.

"PlanetSide 2" is the free-to-play MMOFPS by Sony Online Entertainment (SOE). In what can be the first of it's kind game, SOE has delivered an experience unmatched in scale by any FPS preceeding it. The game is built on SOE's proprietary Forgelight engine, which allows for the creation of massive environments that unhinge the boundaries of map creation and challenge in-game exploration with unprecedented scale, making the worlds more immersive, detailed and realistic.

All the action in "PlanetSide 2" takes place across three continents on the alien world of Auraxis, hinging on the battle between three unique factions who seek to dominate the planet by taking over the continents and it's resources. With an arsenal of weapons to choose from, the infantry in the game can truly prove to be of deadly force, ranging all the way to equipping MAX suits- walking tanks, which deal significant damage. Alongside the infantry, the players can choose to deploy vehicles with multiple purposes,( most involving shooting ofcourse) both in the air and over ground. With a wide variety of playing styles, massive continents and the sheer number of players online, "PlanetSide 2" promises a scale of warfare hard to imagine in most FPS games. The immensely immersive experience makes players to return to it every time and they have a loyal fan base extending all the way to their first instalment, released more than a decade ago

Though free-to-play, some of the coolest gear can be purchased through in-game currency enabling the player to have a customized avatar to represent their army with. This Halloween, there are a lot of special looks and pumkin blasting-giving players a chance to experiment new looks to suit the season and to join in the festivities.
